Front of House - Bar Manager

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Bartender to join our dynamic team. We pride ourselves on creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to sustainability, and we’re looking for someone who shares these values.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage an innovative bar program that aligns with The Acorn’s ethos of creativity and sustainability, including crafting seasonal cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.

- Collaborate closely with local suppliers to source high-quality, local spirits, beers and ingredients, ensuring our bar menu supports and celebrates the community.

- Lead and inspire the bar team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous learning.

- Maintain an unwavering focus on minimizing waste in line with our zero-waste initiatives, ensuring sustainable practices are implemented in all bar operations.

- Ensure a high level of customer service by engaging with guests and providing a memorable experience that reflects The Acorn’s commitment to quality and sustainability.

- Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control to ensure the bar runs efficiently and profitably.

- Train and mentor staff on the bar menu, cocktail techniques, and sustainable practices

- Serving tables as needed within our collaborative, team driven environment

Qualifications:

- Previous bar management experience in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant or bar.

- A passion for sustainability and experience implementing zero-waste practices.

- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both the bar and kitchen teams.

- Creative flair and a passion for crafting unique cocktails with an emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients.

- Knowledge of local suppliers and a commitment to supporting the local community.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- WSET Level 2 or equivalent

  • 4 full floor shifts per week (Friday and Saturday Nights included)

Front of House - Weekend Brunch Server

We are currently seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Weekend Brunch Server to join our front-of-house team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent table service and guest engagement during brunch service

  • Prepare and serve brunch cocktails, espresso-based beverages, and other bar items

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar and service area

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and FOH team

  • Uphold The Acorn’s standards for hospitality, professionalism, and guest care

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and time management skills

  • Serving It Right certification

  • Must be available Saturdays and Sundays from approximately 9:00am–4:00pm

  • Bonus points for bartending experience

Back of House - Food Production Manager

Born during the pandemic as a way to support our network of local farms and staff, Acorn Market has grown into a thriving extension of our commitment to showcasing the best locally grown, seasonal ingredients in a new, accessible format. Our aim is to bring the quality and ethos of The Acorn’s award-winning kitchen into home kitchens across the region.

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated individual to take the lead in preparing, cooking, packaging, and distributing our retail food products. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day production, coordinating with our team and suppliers, and contributing to the strategic growth of the product line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and package Acorn Market items according to recipes and quality standards

  • Maintain production schedules to meet customer and wholesale orders

  • Source and order ingredients, liaising with the chef and suppliers

  • Ensure inventory is organized, accurate, and up to date

  • Manage invoicing, deliveries, and order logistics

  • Assist with onboarding new wholesale accounts and maintaining relationships with existing partners

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production space, ensuring compliance with food safety standards

  • Work collaboratively with The Acorn team to develop new products and seasonal offerings

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has 5+ years cooking in a professional kitchen or food production environment

  • Is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized

  • Has strong time management and problem-solving skills

  • Enjoys both hands-on kitchen work and administrative tasks

  • Understands and values sustainability, seasonality, and local food systems

  • Is comfortable working independently while staying in close communication with the team

  • Has a valid driver’s license (asset, but not required)
