Front of House Manager
We’re seeking a Front of House Manager who leads with enthusiasm, warmth, and precision, creating an engaging and memorable dining experience. This is a key leadership role in our small, fast-paced, and highly regarded restaurant, where hospitality, sustainability, and culinary excellence go hand in hand.
What You’ll Do:
Lead service: Host with grace, wait tables in a fast-paced upscale setting, and ensure our guests feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of.
Bring excitement to the experience: Share your enthusiasm for our zero-waste practices, farm partnerships, and innovative vegetable-driven dishes—your passion should be infectious.
Inspire and elevate the team: Foster a culture of growth, accountability, and continuous improvement while keeping the atmosphere fun, engaging, and collaborative.
Uphold service standards: Ensure consistency and excellence in every aspect of service, working closely with staff to develop their skills and confidence.
Foster a team-first environment: Lead with collaboration and care, mentoring the FOH team and ensuring every team member is supported and challenged to reach their full potential.
Work seamlessly with the kitchen team: The Acorn operates as one team—FOH and BOH working in sync to ensure smooth service, clear communication, and a shared commitment to hospitality.
Meet weekly with the owners: Collaborate on service improvements, guest feedback, menu changes, and overall restaurant operations to ensure alignment and ongoing innovation.
Elevate the beverage experience: Our wine and bar program is thoughtfully curated to complement our cuisine—this role will work closely with the team to ensure perfect pairings, thoughtful recommendations, and exceptional service.
Handle daily operations: Oversee scheduling, hiring, training, guest communication, and service check-ins.
Manage logistics: POS programming (Auphan), reservations (OpenTable), inventory tracking, ordering, and waste reduction strategies.
Financial responsibilities: Log sales, calculate Duebacks using Excel, Organize Timesheets for payroll, and maintain records with precision.
Coordinate special events and field experiences: Help organize and execute in-house dinners, collaborations, and immersive experiences such as staff foraging trips, farm visits, winery tours, and other food-focused adventures that enrich our connection to ingredients and the local food ecosystem.
Who You Are:
Minimum of 5 years serving experience, with 2-years of managing experience in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment.
A strong, empathetic leader who thrives in a fast-paced, fine dining environment.
Passionate about vegetables, sustainability, and sharing the excitement of great food and drink.
A natural problem solver with top organizational skills.
Tech-savvy, with experience using Auphan, OpenTable, Dropbox, and Excel.
Knowledgeable about wine and cocktails (ideally bartending experience), with an understanding of how our beverage program enhances the dining experience.
Committed to motivating and developing the team, helping each person grow while ensuring the restaurant operates at the highest level.
Ego-free, team-oriented, and dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality.
The Details:
4 full floor shifts per week + 1 admin/flex day. (Friday and Saturday Nights included)
